Research Interests

David M. Meko介绍：I use tree-ring data data to study the variability of climatic and hydrologic systems on time scales of decades to centuries. The spatial scale ranges from the small watershed to the continent. I hope that the research contributes to the ability of society to make intelligent choices in the management of its natural resources. Current research topics include streamflow variations in the Colorado River Basin, millennial time scale drought variations in western North America, and the variability of the Mexican monsoon. The development of new quantitative methods in general is a big part of my work. My collaborators include scientists from the U.S. Geological Survey office in Tucson, Scripps Institution of Oceanography in San Diego, The NOAA Paleoclimatology Program, the University of Arkansas, and Lamont Doherty Earth Observatory Funding for current projects comes from NSF, the State of Arizona, NOAA, and the Salt River Project.
