BSDMS (Bridge Scour Data Management System) (Unix Source Code)
By US Geological Survey (USGS). Developed to support preparation, compilation, and analysis of bridge-scour measurement data including site data, measured data, flood event data, and channel geometry data.

CAP (Culvert Analysis Program) (for Data General AViiON)
By US Geological Survey (USGS). Follows USGS standardized procedures for computing flow through culverts. It can be used to develop stage-discharge relationships for culverts and to determine discharge through culverts from high water marks. It will compute flows for rectangular, circular, pipe arch, and other nonstandard shaped culverts.

FEQ (Full Equations Model) (for DOS)

FESWMS-2DH (for Data General AViiON)
By US Geological Survey (USGS). A modular set of computer programs that simulates two-dimensional, depth-integrated, surface-water flows. FESWMS-2DH consists of an input data preparation program (DINMOD), flow model (FLOMOD), simulation output analysis program (ANOMOD), and graphics conversion program (HPPLOT). HEC-FDA
By US Army Corps of Engineers. The Hydrologic Engineering Center's Flood Damage Analysis (HEC-FDA) computer program is designed to assist Corps of Engineers study team members in using risk-based analysis methods for flood-damage-reduction studies as required by the Corps (EM 1110-2-1419). The approach incorporates descriptions of uncertainty of key parameters and functions into project benefit and performance analyses.

HEC-GeoHMS
By US Army Corps of Engineers. The Geospatial Hydrologic Modeling Extension (HEC-GeoHMS) is a software package for use with the ArcView Geographic Information System. GeoHMS uses ArcView and Spatial Analyst to develop a number of hydrologic modelng inputs. Analyzing digital terrain information, HEC-GeoHMS transforms the drainage paths and watershed boundaries into a hydrologic data structure that represents the watershed response to precipitation. In addition to the hydrologic data structure, capabilities include the development of: grid-based data for linear quasi-distributed runoff transformation (ModClark), the HEC-HMS basin model, physical watershed and stream characteristics, and background map file.

HEC-GeoRAS for ArcGIS 9

HEC-GeoRAS for ArcGIS 9 is a package of ArcGIS 9 macros specifically designed to view and manipulate geospatial data for use in the Hydrologic Engineering Center's River Analysis System (HEC-RAS). The graphical user interface allows users with minimal GIS experience to create a HEC-RAS import file containing geometric attribute data from an existing digital terrain model (DTM). Water surface profile data exported from HEC-RAS simulations may also be viewed using HEC-GeoRAS. The HEC-GeoRAS macros are written in the arc macro language (AML) and require the ArcInfo program with the TIN extension.

By US Army Corps of Engineers. The Hydrologic Engineering Centers River Analysis System (HEC-RAS) allows you to perform one-dimensional steady and unsteady flow calculations. HEC-GeoRAS is an ArcView GIS extension that provides the user with a set of procedures, tools, and utilities for the preparation of GIS data for import into HEC-RAS and generation of GIS data from RAS output.

HEC-HMS
By US Army Corps of Engineers. The Hydrologic Modeling System (HMS) is designed to simulate the precipitation-runoff processes of dendritic watershed systems. It is designed to be applicable in a wide range of geographic areas for solving the widest possible range of problems. This includes large river basin water supply and flood hydrology, and small urban or natural watershed runoff. Hydrographs produced by the program are used directly or in conjunction with other software for studies of water availability, urban drainage, flow forecasting, future urbanization impact, reservoir spillway design, flood damage reduction, floodplain regulation, and systems operation.

HSCTM2D (for DOS)
By US Environmental Protection Agency, Center for Exposure Assessment Modeling (CEAM). The Hydrodynamic, Sediment, and Contaminant Transport Model (HSCTM2D) is a finite element modeling system for simulating two-dimensional, vertically-integrated, surface water flow (typically riverine or estuarine hydrodynamics), sediment transport, and contaminant transport.

HydroOffice
By Michal Truban. The HydroOffice package is modular software package for users interested in water sciences. It was created and is currently being developed mainly in the author's free time. Its aim is to create powerful software tools to streamline the work in the water sciences. The beginnings of the HydroOffice modules development dates back to 2002 and the individual modules are progressively developed and new modules are added.

IOWDM (for DOS)
By US Geological Survey (USGS). Input and Output for a Watershed Data Management (WDM) file (IOWDM) is designed to reformat data to and from a WDM file. Data in selected WATSTORE card-image formats and flat file formats can be added to a WDM file.

Long-Term Hydrologic Impact Assessment (L-THIA)
By Purdue Research Foundation. An analysis tool that provides estimates of changes in runoff, recharge and nonpoint source pollution resulting from past or proposed land use changes. It gives long-term average annual runoff for a land use configuration, based on actual long-term climate data for that area. By using many years of climate data in the analysis, L-THIA focuses on the average impact, rather than an extreme year or storm.

MINTEQA2 (for DOS)
By US Environmental Protection Agency, Center for Exposure Assessment Modeling (CEAM). MINTEQA2 is a equilibrium speciation model that can be used to calculate the equilibrium composition of dilute aqueous solutions in the laboratory or in natural aqueous systems. The model is useful for calculating the equilibrium mass distribution among dissolved species, adsorbed species, and multiple solid phases under a variety of conditions including a gas phase with constant partial pressures. A data base is included for solving a broad range of problems without need for additional user-supplied equilibrium constants.
