The height of eta levels will change during model integration since the eta levels are defined with dry hydrostatic pressure. As the pressure changes from time step to time step, the height of the levels will change. Each model time (PH+PHB)/9.81 should give you the estimate of the height levels. If you have many levels near the surface and you are near topography, this could severely limit the time step you are using (hence CFL errors will appear). |
